The Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club community rests on 545 acres of land located approximately 4.5 nautical miles up the Caloosahatchee River from the Gulf of Mexico. Latitude 26° 32-19.0 N, Longitude 81° 56-19.0 West marks the Gulf Harbour Marina channel.
In 1994 the developer acquired the property and a master plan for development of Gulf Harbour was instituted, creating one of the finest Yacht and Country Club communities in the state. The back nine holes of the championship golf course were moved inland to allow for the dredging of the already permitted marina. Construction of the marina began and March of 1995 the grand opening was held. The marina occupancy grew rapidly due to the promises of a grand lifestyle including a world class marina.
The slips began selling in 2001 and quickly sold out, and in 2002 the marina officially turned over to the owners and became Gulf Harbour Marina Condominium Association, Inc.
